Project Description

We conducted UX research on different public-facing websites and mobile applications by NASA JPL during the early stages of the design. We recruited a sample representation of different audiences for each study, including students, teachers and enthusiasts. Qualitative and task-based interviews were conducted in person and remotely.

Participants interacted with the highly interactive elements of each website/app and verbalized their thoughts on what they would use it for, when and how.

Key Insights

Each study revealed several areas of improvement for interfaces, different inspirations for each audience segment, as well as trends, motivations and mental models. Additionally, the students inspired the design team with creative ideas that promote user engagement, satisfaction, and community activities.
